Fluidstack is building civilization-scale AI compute infrastructure, acquiring power, designing and operating data centers at unprecedented speed and scale. The legal team is being built from zero to support the largest compute buildout in history, with no inherited playbook—the systems and standards established now will define how the company operates for the next decade.
As Counsel, Infrastructure, you will be the lead attorney structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements across Fluidstack's entire supply chain, manufacturing, and procurement operations. You will run end-to-end negotiations with sophisticated counterparties, balancing legal risk against the business's need for speed—closing deals in weeks that typically take quarters. You will manage outside counsel across multiple substantive disciplines, holding them to rigorous standards on scope, quality, and spend. You will quarterback transactions cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, and delivery teams, ensuring deals never stall. You will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, anticipating legal and commercial issues before they arise and having solutions ready.
The role requires an active law license and a track record of autonomously structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements as lead counsel against sophisticated counterparties in areas directly relevant to data center development: supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, technology transactions, or similar. You must have demonstrated sound judgment in high-stakes, ambiguous situations, with colleagues able to point to deals where your judgment changed the outcome. You should have experience overseeing outside counsel across multiple disciplines and holding them to a high bar. Strong writing and communication skills are essential—the ability to translate dense legal issues into clear decisions and next steps for executives and counterparties. A mix of law firm and in-house experience is valued, as is familiarity with AI tools for legal work and prior in-house experience at a data center developer or cloud company.
