Salary: USD 164,000 - 245,000 / annual

Affirm is seeking a Commercial Counsel II to join its Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team. This role is part of the Commercial Legal (Revenue) team, which is instrumental in building, scaling, and supporting the framework for global commercial transactions and go-to-market efforts. You will structure, draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of global commercial agreements, including highly complex and novel agreements. You'll serve as a key advisor to Affirm's fast-growing sales, partnerships, and merchant success teams, providing strategic and legal guidance on revenue-generating contracts and commercial relationships. Key responsibilities include: - Structuring, drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex global commercial agreements - Collaborating with cross-functional teams (sales, product, finance, tax, customer ops, risk) to provide strategic legal advice - Leading or participating in projects to improve internal processes and increase team efficiency and scalability - Training and educating internal business partners on commercial legal matters - Managing and resolving legal issues in existing domestic and international commercial relationships - Building and improving templates for global revenue-generating commercial agreements - Developing collaborative working relationships with teams across the U.S. and internationally Required qualifications: - JD from an accredited law school and current bar membership in at least one U.S. state - 5+ years of complex commercial drafting and negotiation experience, ideally on revenue-generating contracts - Strong project management skills with ability to organize, prioritize, and perform under pressure - Ability to manage multiple concurrent deals on tight deadlines while maintaining quality - Excellent judgment and ability to make pragmatic, business-focused decisions in ambiguous situations - Experience drafting and negotiating data privacy terms (CCPA, GLBA, GDPR) - Clear communication skills for internal and external collaboration - Adaptability in fast-paced, high-growth environments Affirm is a remote-first company reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, offering consumers flexibility to buy now and pay later without hidden fees or compounding interest.
