K2 Space is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, with over $1 billion in total funding and $1 billion in signed contracts across commercial and US government customers. The company is mass-producing advanced satellite platforms for missions from LEO to deep space, with multiple launches planned for 2027 and scaling to 100 satellites per year.
As Counsel, you will be the primary legal point of contact supporting K2 Space's hyper-growth phase. You will build and scale the legal function, partnering directly with the entire team to support company growth and ensure excellent employee experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts including procurement/supply chain agreements, subcontracts, vendor agreements, consulting agreements, and purchase orders, with mentoring from the legal team
- Work hand-in-hand with the Supply Chain team to refresh template documents, navigate supplier negotiations, and manage procurement/supply chain issues arising from IP disputes, late delivery, failure to meet contractual specifications, and similar matters
- Support corporate and finance teams, including on cap table management
- Streamline the NDA process by refreshing templates, establishing escalation points, centralizing NDAs, and creating processes to speed up the NDA lifecycle
- Create document storage protocols and single sources of truth for contract documentation, NDAs, and other key documents
This role requires in-person presence at the Torrance, CA headquarters and is viewed as the engine enabling the team and business to grow.
