This role offers the opportunity to provide business-minded legal advice across a diverse scope of matters in a fast-growing fintech environment. Key responsibilities include drafting and negotiating commercial agreements to support UK and US-based sales teams, including customer proposals and NDAs. You will provide practical, business-oriented legal advice directly to colleagues at all organizational levels, support data protection requests and compliance matters, and negotiate vendor agreements while advising on contracting models, product design, compliance, and corporate governance. You will also maintain and develop template agreements, contract review guidebooks, and legal resources, while identifying opportunities to improve legal processes and drive efficiencies. You should demonstrate the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice, think creatively and strategically about process improvements, and be comfortable working on corporate and commercial matters spanning both UK and US jurisdictions. Essential traits include being a quick learner comfortable with unfamiliar matters, thriving in fast-paced environments, and operating independently with decisive action. Preferred qualifications include in-house experience at a fast-growing technology company or fintech advisory experience at a law firm, strong awareness of the payment industry sector and SaaS contracting models, and privacy expertise including GDPR familiarity (CIPP/E or CIPP/M certification is a plus). Payment industry or account-to-account payment experience is valued but not required. NMI welcomes candidates with non-traditional career paths and diverse backgrounds.
