Salary: USD 190,000 - 240,000 / annual
Anthropic is seeking a Corporate Finance & Strategy professional to support M&A and strategic transaction activity. In this role, you will lead financial due diligence on acquisition targets, own the Finance & Strategy perspective on each deal, and translate deal impact into Anthropic's financial forecasts and plans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead financial due diligence on M&A and strategic transactions: assess target historical performance and forecasts, pressure-test deal assumptions, and surface material risks
- Build deal models and pro forma forecasts for each transaction, evaluating deal economics and structuring options
- Partner cross-functionally with Corporate Development, Accounting, R&D, and People teams throughout the deal process
- Translate each deal's impact into Anthropic's forecast and plan, presenting analysis and recommendations to Finance leadership
- Build templates, playbooks, and processes to make deal work repeatable and scalable, leveraging Claude and AI tools to improve rigor and pace
You will work with a broad group of stakeholders and are expected to have seen transactions from multiple vantage points—whether as an investor, banker, or operator. The role requires someone who can give leadership clear visibility into deal financials and build frameworks that ensure consistency across transactions.

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, staff are expected to be in office at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
- 7+ years of experience in M&A-related roles (investment banking, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, corporate development, or strategic finance)
- Hands-on experience building acquisition models and pro forma forecasts from scratch, with mastery of how transactions flow through the three financial statements
- Strong collaborator who builds trust quickly across large, cross-functional deal teams
- Clear, proactive communication with experience presenting to Finance leadership
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and navigate ambiguity with confidence
- Track record of building new processes, templates, and playbooks
- Passion for Anthropic's mission of building safe, beneficial AI
Preferred:
- MBA, CFA, or CPA
- Experience on both investing/advisory and operating sides of transactions
- M&A experience at a public company with understanding of downstream reporting impacts
- Experience using Claude or similar AI tools to improve work quality and efficiency
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience in a field relevant to the role.
