Lunar Energy is seeking a Corporate Development Manager to serve as the analytical engine behind the company's growth strategy. Based in the London office (~3 days/week in-office, with regular travel to Mountain View HQ), you'll report to the Director of Finance & Corporate Development and work directly with the CEO, President, and VP of Finance. Key responsibilities include building and owning complex financial models—commercial models, product unit economics, and project finance structures that fund residential energy systems. You'll evaluate financing structures for Lunar's products, analyzing cash flow waterfalls, customer contracts, residual value, and tax equity implications. You'll pull apart unit economics of hardware and software solutions to identify which levers move margin, and evaluate strategic partnerships and potential acquisitions end-to-end, including market sizing, diligence, valuation, and recommendations. You'll prepare board, investor, and lender materials and present your work to senior audiences. You'll also build simple internal tools and dashboards using AI to enable the broader team to answer recurring questions independently, and own Finance's relationship with Markets and Data Science teams, leveraging proprietary data for commercial decisions. Required experience includes 3–6 years in investment banking project finance, management consulting, or strategy/financial modeling roles at energy companies. You need hands-on project finance expertise (cash waterfalls, sensitivity analysis, cost of capital, term sheets, lender conversations), advanced Excel skills with macro capability, and basic knowledge of Python or similar tools. You should be comfortable using AI for internal tools and dashboards, possess strong commercial analytics skills, and excel at translating complex analysis into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders. Willingness to travel frequently and flexibility for California time zone collaboration required. Preferred: experience in residential/distributed energy, utilities, or energy infrastructure; familiarity with leased/subscription-based product financing; exposure to corporate development activities (market entry, partnerships, fundraising, M&A).
