Standard Bots builds AI-native industrial robot arms deployed at manufacturing facilities across the U.S. Following a $200M Series C at $1B valuation (June 2026), the company is building financial infrastructure to support growth toward an eventual IPO. You will own the complete financial control function, designing and implementing the control environment from the ground up. This includes leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual close with a focus on compressing timelines to public-company standards; designing and implementing internal controls using the COSO framework, segregation of duties, approval matrices, and SOX-caliber documentation; and selecting and managing a PCAOB-registered external audit firm as the primary point of contact through the full audit cycle. On the technical accounting side, you will own US GAAP accounting including ASC 606 revenue recognition (hardware, services, deferred revenue), inventory and standard costing, and stock-based compensation. You'll author technical accounting position memos for audit support, manage equity and stock plan administration (ASC 718, cap table systems, 409A valuations), and build SEC reporting readiness including 10-K/10-Q drafting and XBRL tagging. You will lead the accounting workstream of an ERP implementation (migrating from QuickBooks Online), write and roll out company-wide policies (procure-to-pay, T&E, close calendar, delegation of authority), and use AI and automation to scale the function efficiently. You'll build and mentor the accounting team as the company grows, partner with the Senior Finance Manager on budget-vs-actuals reporting, and work with the Plant Controller on inventory accounting including cycle counts and physical counts. As the company matures toward IPO readiness, you will present close, controls, and audit status to the board and audit committee alongside the CFO. This role requires hands-on execution—you'll be as comfortable posting a journal entry as presenting to leadership—and the ability to work efficiently against aggressive deadlines. REQUIREMENTS: - CPA required; Big 4 or national firm foundation strongly preferred - 10+ years of progressive accounting experience - Public-company experience preferred: you've taken a company through an IPO (S-1 process, SOX 404 implementation) or operated the close and controls of a public company under PCAOB audit - Proven record of implementing controls where none existed; you've built the control environment, not just inherited one - Demonstrated success compressing close timelines in a growing company - Experience selecting and managing a PCAOB-registered audit firm - Experience with SEC reporting requirements and equity/stock plan administration systems - Manufacturing or hardware experience with inventory and standard costing strongly preferred - ERP implementation experience - Hands-on, in-the-weeds operating style - Ability to work efficiently against aggressive deadlines and consistently hit close and audit dates - Curiosity and drive to apply AI tools to automate and improve accounting processes
