Helion is a fusion power company on a mission to build the world's first commercial fusion power plant, enabling unlimited clean electricity. Helion's prototype Polaris has achieved record-breaking plasma temperatures of 150 million degrees Celsius, and the company is advancing toward its Orion power plant. The Corporate Communications Specialist will execute internal and external communications during a period of rapid growth and technical achievement. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role manages high-visibility programs including the weekly company newsletter, monthly town halls, executive communications, speaking engagements, media relations, and major announcements. Key responsibilities include: managing the planning and execution of internal communications programs; owning the internal communications calendar and serving as coordinator for inbound requests; drafting and editing executive communications adapted to different voices and audiences; maintaining the external speaking engagement calendar and coordinating speaker preparation; partnering across science, engineering, manufacturing, operations, policy, and People teams to identify and develop compelling stories; and tracking performance using employee feedback and engagement data to improve programs. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in corporate communications, internal communications, public relations, journalism, or related field. Required skills include excellent writing and editing with demonstrated ability to adapt content for different executives and channels; independent management of recurring programs and complex projects with multiple contributors; strong organizational and project-management capabilities; sound judgment with sensitive information; and ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment. This is an onsite role at Helion's Everett headquarters.
