Anthropic is seeking a Copywriter, Developer to shape how the brand communicates with developers—an audience known for skepticism toward marketing and appreciation for authenticity. This role sits at the intersection of developer relations, technical content, and brand marketing, requiring someone who can translate complex AI concepts into writing that developers trust and share. You will own brand-led developer writing across launches, campaigns, social media, paid advertising, and event materials. Key responsibilities include: • Own the developer-facing expression of brand campaigns, translating brand-level ideas into writing for launches, social, and paid channels • Build and maintain a developer voice and tone guide in partnership with Communications and Developer Relations teams • Create brand-led developer assets that bridge technical content and marketing, from event materials to enterprise-context writing • Embed with the Developer Relations team as an extension of their group, complementing rather than duplicating technical content • Develop launch narratives and short-form copy that adapt technical material into sharp, accurate writing developers trust • Lead copy for the developer creative pod, collaborating with brand designers and program managers on integrated campaigns • Partner with Claude Code and developer marketing leadership on strategic initiatives • Present work and rationale for voice and craft decisions to stakeholders across Brand, Dev Rel, Communications, and marketing • Manage feedback from technical reviewers and Communications to ensure accuracy and external compliance • Track performance of developer-facing work and use insights to refine voice, templates, and execution You will work within a developer creative pod alongside a brand designer and program manager, with the Head of Copy and Content as your craft lead. The role requires daily partnership with technical teams and the ability to work fluidly across technical content, brand writing, and marketing. Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems that are safe and beneficial. The company operates as a cohesive team focused on large-scale research efforts, valuing impact and communication skills. REQUIREMENTS: • 8+ years of experience writing for developers or technical audiences, with a portfolio demonstrating both technical and brand work • Shipped work that developers actually shared, either in-house at developer tools/infrastructure companies or at agencies serving those clients • Strong, specific point of view on how brands should talk to developers, articulated with examples • Ability to read changelogs or documentation and explain why developers would or wouldn't trust them • Skilled at adapting expert material into sharp short-form copy and launch narratives without losing accuracy • Fluent across the full range from technical content to pure brand writing • Active user of Claude or other AI models in your own writing practice, able to discuss concretely how • Comfortable embedding with technical teams and treating engineers and Dev Rel as creative partners • Comfortable co-owning standards with other teams and knowing where your lane ends • Excited about Anthropic's mission to develop safe and beneficial AI • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience STRONG ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: • Direct experience working alongside Dev Rel or engineering teams rather than through briefs • Built or contributed to voice and tone guides, style systems, or writing templates used by others • Written for developer launches at fast-moving product companies where accuracy and speed both mattered • Familiarity with the AI developer ecosystem, including coding tools, APIs, and developer evaluation criteria • Experience writing developer-credible work that also performs in enterprise or executive contexts • Personal writing practice, newsletter, or public work demonstrating voice and judgment • Experience working within brand campaign systems and translating them for skeptical or specialized audiences
