Employment Hero is a global HR and employment operating system serving over 350,000 SMEs across six countries. The company has reached a $2 billion valuation and operates with an AI-first, remote-first culture.
As a Conversion Designer (CRO), you will drive high-velocity A/B testing and experimentation across Employment Hero's website, landing pages, forms, and AI-powered experiences. Reporting to the CRO Manager, you'll be central to the Website CRO team's mission to optimize the candidate and customer funnel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and executing A/B test variants and experiments across homepages, landing pages, forms, pricing tables, and AI chat interfaces
- Leveraging Claude and AI-first workflows to rapidly prototype and convert briefs into working HTML within hours, balancing speed with craft and brand alignment
- Evolving the web kit and design system to build scalable, reusable patterns rather than one-off pages
- Exploring ideas in Figma using auto-layout, components, and variants to deliver clean specs for desktop and mobile
- Identifying gaps in the design kit and contributing new, documented components to advance systems-thinking
- Designing full landing pages and high-quality page templates when experimentation isn't the right approach
- Collaborating with CRO analysts to review test results, heatmaps, and session recordings to document winning patterns
- Presenting design rationale to marketing, product, and brand stakeholders, framing trade-offs around conversion impact
- Partnering with web developers on technical feasibility, performance, QA, and experiment launch setup
- Working in a remote-first environment, sharing early and collaborating openly across cross-functional teams
The role emphasizes blending AI-powered speed for ideation with human craft, typography, and attention to detail for final polish. You'll raise the bar on web design quality while maintaining high velocity.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of web design experience as a UI, web, product, or digital designer, with live websites or landing pages in your portfolio
- Daily use of AI tools for research, prototyping, code editing, and self-critique; Claude experience strongly preferred
- Strong conversion instincts and experimentation experience, including A/B test variant design, CRO team collaboration, and solid grasp of hierarchy, trust, friction, and form design
- Systems and product thinking to design scalable, reusable patterns considering end-to-end user journeys
- Built-in responsive and accessible design principles (mobile-first layouts, WCAG basics, working knowledge of HTML/CSS)
- Ability to deliver solid variants in 1–2 days while applying meticulous final polish when needed
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to present design rationale backed by evidence, take feedback constructively, and push back when appropriate
- Figma fluency, including auto-layout, component architecture, and navigating existing design systems
- Nice to have: Technical proficiency in B2B SaaS/lead generation environments (multi-step forms, demo requests, HTML/CSS/JS prototyping or Claude Code); familiarity with experimentation platforms (Optimizely, VWO), analytics tools (GA4, Hotjar, Clarity), CRO frameworks (Speero, Baymard, Nielsen), and AI/conversational interface design
