Coram AI is seeking a Controller to own the entire accounting function as the second finance leader, reporting to the Head of Finance. This is a player-coach role where you will initially run the month-end close and technical accounting work directly alongside one accountant, then build and scale the accounting team over 12-18 months as the company grows toward Series C and $50M+ ARR.
You will own the complete accounting function across all entities (US, UK, India), including month-end close and consolidations, technical accounting (ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 leases, ASC 718 stock-based compensation), COGS, inventory, and internal controls. You will manage Coram's external audit, tax, statutory, and specialist accounting work, and build a modern, AI-first accounting organization.
Coram AI uses computer vision and AI to provide cloud-native video security solutions. The company was founded by ex-Lyft engineers (Ashesh Jain, PhD Cornell; Peter Ondruska, PhD Oxford), has raised over $65M from top-tier investors including Battery Ventures and Mosaic, and was named to CB Insights AI 100.
Required qualifications: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience or an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller ready to step up; independent ownership of a month-end close with real ASC 606 revenue recognition experience; hardware/manufacturing accounting experience (inventory, COGS, physical product revenue); strong technical accounting skills in US GAAP, revenue recognition, and consolidations; CPA preferred; audit experience (internal or external); multi-entity close and consolidation experience; team building and management experience; AI-forward mindset with hands-on automation and AI experience in accounting; multi-entity or international experience; and ability to work in an onsite environment.
