Salary: USD 130,000 - 150,000 / annual
Voyager Technologies, an innovative space, defense, and national security technology company, is seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to join its Contracts department. This role reports to the Senior Director of Contracts and is based in El Segundo, CA, with potential multi-site responsibility.
You will provide strategic advice and guidance on contractual rights, obligations, regulations, and policies to mitigate risks and prevent unauthorized changes. Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and implement contract strategies aligned with Voyager's strategic imperatives, partnering with Finance leadership to secure contract awards, negotiate payment terms, and ensure timely customer payments.
• Collaborate across business divisions and functional organizations (Legal, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Controller, Compliance) to vet contracting activities and ensure consistency with Delegation of Authority and command media/policy.
• Manage customer relationships to ensure positive, constructive interactions and support contract lifecycle activities including proposal preparation, terms and conditions assessment, and contract closeouts.
• Provide leadership on contract management responsibilities, including risk assessment of terms and conditions, representation to executive leadership aligned with company strategy, and coordination of key business issues with legal and risk management.
• Assess implications of international and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contracting, offsets, industrial participation, intellectual property issues, and USG data rights.
• Travel between multiple sites as needed.
You will bring strong subject matter expertise in contracting, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership. The role requires deep experience with FAR/DFARS/Direct Commercial Sales terms and conditions, government contract management, and proposal development.
**Requirements:**
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years in a highly dynamic role at a technology, defense, or aerospace/space company
- Experience managing Government contracts under FAR and DFARS
- Experience in proposal development, cost structure, performance requirements, delivery schedules, and negotiations
- Demonstrated ability to shape results and influence executive leadership
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex customers
- Detail-oriented and data-driven
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual) and eligible to obtain export authorizations per ITAR and EAR
Preferred:
- Advanced degree (MBA, JD, or other)
- Experience with aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing
