Salary: USD 130,000 - 150,000 / annual
Voyager Technologies, an innovative space, defense, and national security technology company, is seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to join its Contracts department in Folsom, CA. This role reports to the Senior Director of Contracts and carries multi-site responsibility.
You will serve as a strategic advisor on complex contractual matters, providing guidance on contractual rights, obligations, regulations, and policies to mitigate risks and prevent unauthorized changes. Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and implement contract strategies aligned with Voyager's strategic imperatives, partnering with business divisions and functional organizations (Legal, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Compliance) to ensure comprehensive vetting of contracting activities.
• Provide strategic advice on Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance, Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) terms and conditions, international and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contracting, offsets, industrial participation, intellectual property issues, and USG data rights.
• Partner with Finance leadership to secure contract awards, negotiate payment terms, and ensure on-time customer payments to meet financial targets.
• Lead proposal preparation and contract negotiations, assessing terms and conditions to protect the corporation from unusual risk while sustaining or improving financial goals.
• Manage contract closeouts and coordinate with Supply Chain leadership to ensure relevant requirements are communicated and incorporated.
• Develop, support, and maintain positive customer relationships; represent the company to executive leadership with recommendations aligned with Voyager strategy.
• Coordinate resolution of key business issues with legal, risk management, and corporate contracts teams.
• Travel between multiple sites as needed.
Requirements:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years in a highly dynamic role at a technology, defense, aerospace, or space company
• Experience managing Government contracts under FAR and DFARS
• Experience in proposal development, cost structure, performance requirements, delivery schedules, and negotiations
• Demonstrated ability to shape results, communicate effectively, and influence executive leadership
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex customers
• Detail-oriented and data-driven
Preferred:
• Advanced degree (MBA, JD, or other)
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing
