Sift is seeking a Contracts & Legal Operations Specialist to own the end-to-end contracting process, leveraging AI tools to accelerate routine work while maintaining quality and risk management. This role sits at the intersection of legal, sales, and operations, managing the full contract lifecycle from intake through renewal and termination.
Key responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and closing standard commercial agreements independently (NDAs, order forms, renewals, vendor and partner agreements). You'll review and finalize AI-generated first-pass redlines and clause extraction before they reach counterparties. You'll own contract automation and playbooks, updating clause libraries, adjusting intake logic, and adding new agreement types as the business evolves.
You'll manage vendor and procurement requests end-to-end, negotiate standard pricing and terms, track requests through Jira, and push back on unfavorable terms. The role includes coaching Sales on standard terms and redlines to streamline deal closure, collaborating with Sales and Deal Desk to optimize sales processes, and tracking contract and vendor metrics.
Triage and escalation are critical: you'll identify what's standard versus what requires legal counsel involvement, escalating complex, high-risk, or non-standard agreements appropriately. You'll work closely with Deal Desk, Sales, Partners, Finance, Security, Privacy, Marketing, and Product teams.
Required: 2+ years in contracts, legal operations, or deal desk roles (ideally B2B SaaS). Daily comfort with AI tools for drafting and review. Strong judgment on risk and standard terms. Experience with Salesforce and Jira. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Comfort in a role still being built with evolving processes and tooling.
Nice-to-have: legal, paralegal, or compliance background; CLM platform experience (DocuSign Navigator, Ironclad, LinkSquares, Conga); data privacy or DPA knowledge (CPRA, GDPR); fraud, risk, or trust & safety exposure; hands-on LLM experience (Claude, ChatGPT) for custom prompts and workflows; high-growth company experience.
