Traversal is an AI Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) platform for enterprises, autonomously diagnosing, fixing, and preventing production incidents across complex environments. The company is backed by Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and other top-tier investors, with a team of researchers from MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, Columbia, and Cornell alongside operators from Google, Meta, Datadog, and ServiceNow.
You will own Traversal's content and social strategy, serving as the primary voice across the company's digital channels. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution across multiple content formats and platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing Traversal's social and content strategy, managing the day-to-day content calendar across LinkedIn, X, Reddit, and other platforms
- Writing thought leadership content for founders and executives, and building programs to help engineers, researchers, and employees develop and share their own content
- Owning the newsletter strategy, developing recurring video series, and creating new content programs that drive sustained engagement
- Partnering closely with the Brand Designer to develop creative campaigns and social-first content that combines strong writing with distinctive visuals
- Contributing creative concepts and copy for advertising, out-of-home campaigns, product launches, and brand moments
- Collaborating with external communications agencies on media pitches, awards submissions, and storytelling opportunities
- Experimenting with new formats, distribution strategies, and AI-powered workflows to maximize content reach and impact
The ideal candidate combines exceptional writing ability with strong creative instincts and wants to work across different content types rather than specialize in one area. You'll need to get comfortable with complex technical topics (AI, infrastructure, observability) quickly and make them compelling for diverse audiences. You'll work in a fully in-office, collaborative environment in New York, 5 days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3–5 years of experience in content, social, brand, communications, or related marketing role, ideally at a fast-growing technology company or startup
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across formats: sharp social copy, newsletters, executive thought leadership, and writing in others' voices
- Strong creative instincts with a track record of developing fresh angles, hooks, and formats that earn attention
- Deep understanding of social media dynamics, particularly LinkedIn and X, with instincts for what drives engagement and sharing
- Experience working with complex or technical subject matter and ability to quickly develop fluency in AI, infrastructure, and related domains
- Experience developing and managing content across multiple formats: social, newsletters, employee-led content, recurring series
- Ability to move between strategy and execution, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with designers, executives, technical teams, and agencies
NICE TO HAVE:
- Background in AI, infrastructure, developer tools, cloud, observability, or cybersecurity
- Experience growing brand or executive presence on X, Reddit, or channels beyond LinkedIn
- Experience developing creative concepts and copy for broader brand campaigns (advertising, out-of-home, events)
- Experience conceiving or producing video content from concept through production partnership
