Leland is hiring its first Content & Creative Lead to build and scale the content engine for a fast-growing edtech platform focused on career development, education, and AI upskilling. Founded in 2021 and backed by $19M in funding, Leland connects people with expert coaches, programs, and communities to help them land jobs, get into schools, and prepare for an AI-driven world. In this role, you will own content strategy and execution across all channels—blog, newsletters, webinars, livestreams, whitepapers, and social media. You'll set the editorial calendar, establish processes and AI workflows to ensure consistent publishing, and optimize for both traditional SEO and emerging AI search discoverability. You'll measure impact on traffic, engagement, pipeline influence, and bookings, then double down on what works. You'll champion original research and reports on admissions, careers, and AI at work, leveraging Leland's coaches, customers, and data. You'll turn internal experts and customers into content through interviews and case studies, and build relationships with journalists and podcasters to amplify Leland's voice in key conversations. As the brand and creative leader, you'll maintain Leland's visual and verbal identity across all channels, concept and lead integrated multi-channel campaigns, and serve as the creative partner to performance marketing, lifecycle, AI programs, and sales teams. You'll work hands-on with design and video when needed, and direct freelancers or AI tools strategically. You'll also build and manage the content team, starting by hiring and leading a Social Media Manager, with the role expanding into a broader content leadership position as the company grows. This is a hands-on role that starts with individual execution and evolves into team leadership. You'll work in a collaborative, high-energy environment where your contributions directly impact the company's growth and mission. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years in content, brand, or creative roles, including experience building a content program at a startup or high-growth company (consumer, B2B SaaS, or ideally both) - Excellent writer and editor with strong opinions about quality - Real design sense and hands-on skills in tools like Figma, Canva, and Claude Design; ability to create strong visuals independently - Portfolio demonstrating both editorial and creative work - Solid SEO fundamentals and understanding of how AI is changing search discoverability - AI-native: daily use of tools like Claude or Midjourney with proven workflow automation - Organized, systems-minded approach to building scalable processes - Experience managing or mentoring at least one person - Bonus: video production and editing skills, PR or media relations experience, or media/publishing background
