Layup Parts is seeking a Computational Geometry Software Lead to build and mentor a team developing specialized software for composite parts manufacturing. You will lead the computational geometry software team, setting technical priorities and providing day-to-day direction and mentorship to engineers.
Key responsibilities include partnering closely with manufacturing and mechanical engineers to translate production challenges into software requirements and development priorities. You'll guide development of software that analyzes, manipulates, and generates complex 3D geometry for composite parts and tooling, while leading the creation of internal engineering tools that improve speed, quality, and scalability of manufacturing workflows.
You will help automate workflows across CAD/CAM, tooling, machining, and other manufacturing processes, making technical and product tradeoffs based on both software considerations and manufacturing realities. The role requires staying close enough to the code and architecture to provide technical guidance, review approaches, and contribute directly when needed.
You'll help shape the team's technical architecture, development practices, and roadmap as Layup's manufacturing platform grows. This is a hands-on leadership position that balances team management with individual technical contribution, requiring deep expertise in computational geometry, CAD/CAM systems, and manufacturing software.
