The Finance team builds the financial foundation for a rapidly growing digital health insurance operation in emerging markets. Core responsibilities include producing reliable financial information for each entity, maintaining audit-ready accounts, and providing leadership with trustworthy data for decision-making. Day-to-day work involves accounting entries at high volume with zero quality compromise, managing month-end closures, and driving automation.
As Accountant, you will handle daily accounting operations for Alan's West African entities. This is a high-volume role requiring precision and speed. Responsibilities include: daily bookkeeping (purchases, sales, receipts, disbursements) using accounting software (Sage, Odoo) following SYSCOHADA chart of accounts; bank and treasury reconciliations, account matching, and tracking accruals to maintain clean books; monthly closure participation and preparation of supporting documentation for the finance manager and external audit firms; contribution to tax filings (VAT) and payment tracking with the accounting firm; and identifying repetitive tasks to propose simplifications—imports, templates, automations—to accelerate data entry and improve reliability.
