The company is building a deeply integrated meta layer spanning the entire payment lifecycle with a modular architecture.
As a Compliance Specialist, you will own and drive key compliance processes across the company, reporting to the General Counsel. You will ensure Payrails' operations, products, and partnerships meet financial-crime, sanctions, and scheme requirements while supporting rapid global scaling.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting business partner due diligence and enhanced due diligence (KYC/KYB) for new and existing partners
- Supporting AML/CTF and sanctions monitoring, including reviewing alerts, investigating suspicious activity, and preparing internal reports
- Monitoring legal, sanctions, and card-scheme developments across markets and translating them into actionable requirements
- Working directly with Product and Engineering teams to embed compliance requirements into new products from the design stage
- Supporting maintenance and improvement of internal policies, procedures, and controls
- Managing relationships with acquirers, PSPs, banking partners, auditors, and card schemes
You bring 3-5 years of hands-on compliance experience in payments, fintech, or financial services. You have solid experience with KYC/KYB processes, AML/CTF frameworks, sanctions/AML screening, and transaction/fraud monitoring. Knowledge of financial crime frameworks, sanctions requirements, and card scheme rules is essential. You've worked with acquirers, PSPs, auditors, or banking partners. You excel at translating complex compliance requirements into clear guidance for non-technical audiences, are detail-oriented and structured, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You're pragmatic and solution-oriented, finding ways to meet requirements without slowing business growth. Fluent English required.
The role offers hybrid working with an office in Cairo, competitive salary, premium family medical insurance, 27 days annual paid vacation, and the opportunity to shape a high-growth fintech company from the ground up.
