Rula, a Series C mental health and addiction treatment platform, is seeking a Compliance Manager to lead day-to-day medical records operations and external audit coordination. Reporting to the Director of Compliance, you will oversee medical records activities, manage vendor and team performance, and handle external audits from intake through findings and remediation closure. You'll partner closely with Legal, Privacy, Clinical, Financial Operations, Partnerships, and other business stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into practical, sustainable processes.
The role requires 3+ years of experience managing or coordinating external audits, regulatory reviews, or similar oversight activities, combined with 5+ years in healthcare privacy, medical records, release-of-information processes, or health information management. You must hold a Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, health information management, compliance, or a related field. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with demonstrated experience interpreting regulatory, contractual, and operational requirements and translating them into actionable processes.
Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree and/or Juris Doctor in healthcare law, 2+ years in telehealth, privacy, and/or behavioral health compliance, experience with third-party medical records fulfillment vendors, familiarity with Salesforce, Zendesk, EHR systems, and healthcare practice management platforms, relevant certifications (compliance, privacy, audit, or health information management), and experience overseeing operational workflows, vendors, staff, or cross-functional projects.
