EliseAI is seeking a Compliance Lead to build and operate its AML/BSA, KYC/KYB, fraud detection, loss prevention, and sanctions compliance programs. The company, which recently raised $250M Series E funding, uses AI agents to improve workflows in housing and healthcare, working closely with banking and financial institution partners. In this role, you will own the design and continuous improvement of the company's fraud monitoring, KYC/KYB, AML/BSA, and OFAC/sanctions compliance programs, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and governance materials. You'll serve as the primary compliance contact for banking, fintech, and other financial institution partners, overseeing recurring meetings, reporting cycles, obligations, and escalations. Key responsibilities include leading KYC/KYB processes, overseeing transaction-monitoring operations, reviewing escalated alerts and investigations, and preparing Unusual Activity Reports (UARs) and other required reports for financial institution partners. You will work cross-functionally with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate regulatory requirements into practical workflows, controls, system rules, and monitoring capabilities. You'll contribute compliance guidance to new products and market initiatives, identify risks early, and help teams launch responsibly at speed. Additional duties include coordinating compliance testing, audits, examinations, issue remediation, and responses to partner or regulator requests. You'll track state and federal regulatory developments and translate them into clear, prioritized actions for the business. You'll also own the BSA/AML compliance training program, building content, tracking completion, and reporting to third parties. Required qualifications: 5+ years of AML/BSA compliance experience at a fintech, bank, payment processor, money services business, or comparable regulated financial institution. You must have hands-on experience managing relationships with banking partners, sponsor banks, or other financial institutions, and experience building an AML/BSA compliance program from 0 to 1. Working knowledge of transaction monitoring, customer identification and due diligence, enhanced due diligence, sanctions screening, investigations, and UAR and SAR processes is essential. Strong understanding of FinCEN regulations, the Bank Secrecy Act, and OFAC sanctions requirements is required. Experience with compliance technology and operational tooling (e.g., Sardine) is a plus. You must have clear written communication, sound judgment, and the ability to translate complex compliance requirements for cross-functional stakeholders. Excellent organizational rigor and the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and stakeholders is critical. The role requires in-person presence at the NYC office 4–5 days per week.
