As Compliance Engineer, you will bridge regulatory obligations and technical systems, working closely with Legal, Compliance, and Engineering teams. Your core responsibilities include translating regulatory requirements (AML, KYC, BSA, FinCEN, OFAC) into technical specifications; designing and maintaining compliance systems including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer due diligence workflows; reviewing technical implementations for regulatory gaps and owning remediation; developing compliance analytics and data quality controls; serving as technical subject-matter expert during audits and regulatory exams; staying current on evolving regulations in US and international markets; writing technical compliance documentation and runbooks; and supporting SAR/CTR reporting workflows. You should have 3–5+ years in compliance engineering, fintech compliance, or similar technical compliance roles. Required: working knowledge of US financial regulations (BSA, AML, KYC, OFAC, FinCEN); hands-on experience with transaction monitoring systems, identity verification, or watchlist screening; ability to read and reason about code (Python, SQL); experience translating regulatory language into technical requirements; strong written communication for both engineering and regulatory audiences; SQL and data analytics skills for validating controls and supporting reporting. Bonus qualifications include crypto/digital assets/payments compliance experience, familiarity with international AML frameworks (FATF, EU AMLD), compliance certifications (CAMS, CFE), and prior support of regulatory exams or external audits in a technical capacity.
