FalconX is a leading institutional digital asset platform bridging traditional finance and cryptocurrency markets. The Compliance Associate, Market Surveillance role is central to maintaining trading platform integrity and detecting market abuse across digital asset markets.
Key responsibilities include independently investigating trade surveillance alerts for wash trading, spoofing, layering, front-running, and insider trading. You will analyze trading activity across order books and execution venues to identify manipulative patterns and coordinated trading schemes in spot, derivatives, and tokenized real-world asset markets.
The role encompasses token and asset due diligence for new listings, evaluating tokenomics, liquidity profiles, smart contract risk, governance structures, and issuer backgrounds. You will conduct ongoing monitoring of listed assets for material changes—regulatory actions, delistings, rug-pull indicators, and holder concentration shifts—and escalate findings with clear risk narratives.
You will leverage AI-assisted surveillance tooling to investigate alerts and surface risk patterns, providing feedback on model outputs and detection gaps. Collaboration with Engineering and Data teams will enhance surveillance platform capabilities through use-case requirements and validation testing.
Regulatory compliance is critical: you will maintain deep understanding of market abuse regulations across jurisdictions (CFTC, SEC, MiCA, MAS) and digital-asset-specific guidance. You will partner with the Compliance Manager to update surveillance procedures, detection playbooks, and SOPs as regulations evolve, and assist in audit readiness by gathering investigation documentation and alert disposition records.
Data management and reporting require maintaining thorough, audit-ready investigation records with complete evidence chains while ensuring data confidentiality in line with global privacy standards.
