The Compliance Associate supports the firm's financial crime control framework across the full customer lifecycle, delivering front-line operational execution for onboarding due diligence, screening, and transaction monitoring across both BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) and SVF (Stored Value Facility) product lines.
Key responsibilities include reviewing and assessing screening results such as sanctions, PEPs (Politically Exposed Persons), and adverse media, escalating potential matches in line with internal procedures. The role involves conducting enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk customers and merchants, ensuring all findings are well-documented and meet regulatory expectations. You will review and verify Know Your Business (KYB) documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with UAE regulatory standards.
Additional duties include monitoring and investigating unusual or suspicious transactions, documenting findings and escalating cases where appropriate. The associate maintains comprehensive notes and audit trails for all compliance reviews, investigations, and decisions, working closely with internal teams including onboarding, risk, and legal to resolve compliance issues and queries in a timely manner. You will help ensure that all compliance records and systems are updated and maintained in accordance with internal policies, and stay informed of relevant UAE AML/CFT regulations and industry developments.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as law, finance, business, or a related discipline. 1–2 years of experience in a compliance, KYC/KYB, or financial crime function is preferred but not essential. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with AML, sanctions screening, KYC/KYB, and EDD processes are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, the ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively from a remote location, and a high level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information are essential.
