Salary: GBP 59,500 - 70,000 / annual
Monzo is seeking a Compliance Advisory Manager to join the second line of defence (2LoD) within the Risk and Compliance Collective. This role reports directly to the Senior Compliance Advisory Manager and serves as the primary compliance advisor for three key business collectives: the Wealth Collective (Savings, Investments, Pensions & Insurance), the Growth & Marketing Collective (Brand Campaigns, events & sponsorship), and MonzOS (Monzo-wide platform experience including AI integration).
The successful candidate will have day-to-day responsibility for advising on compliance matters across all three collectives, with a specific focus on independently leading compliance advice for the Investments and Pensions squads within the Wealth Collective. Over time, the role will expand to provide comprehensive compliance guidance across all supported areas.
Key responsibilities include: serving as the first point of contact for compliance advice; providing clear and proactive guidance on COBS, PROD, SDR, CASS, and Consumer Duty regulations; reviewing customer journeys and communications to ensure good customer outcomes and flag risks; advising Marketing and Financial Promotion teams on financial promotion rules; overseeing regulatory breaches and incidents; and continuously expanding knowledge across supported business areas.
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of FCA COBS rules and associated regulations, hands-on experience providing compliance advice (ideally from banking, wealth management, or fintech backgrounds), and expertise in Consumer Duty and COBS rules. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and build relationships across teams. Experience incorporating AI into compliance work is valued. The role requires a pragmatic, collaborative approach to ensure regulations are understood, products are compliant by design, and customer needs are met.
