You will serve as Harvey's first dedicated Compensation Business Partner for international markets (EMEA and APAC), based in Dublin. This is a foundational role to shape how Harvey approaches compensation as it scales globally.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the primary compensation advisor for EMEA and APAC regions, developing deep expertise on regional talent markets, teams, and hiring needs.
- Partner with People Business Partners, business leaders, and recruiters on compensation decisions including offers, promotions, internal mobility, and complex compensation questions.
- Build strong partnerships with recruiting teams, advising on offer competitiveness and candidate-specific situations.
- Evolve Harvey's international compensation strategy, including geographic differentiation, market positioning, salary structures, and equity approaches.
- Translate Harvey's equity philosophy across markets where candidate expectations and familiarity with US-style equity vary significantly.
- Conduct market analyses using compensation survey data and external sources, applying judgment to recommendations.
- Research emerging compensation practices and talent trends in the AI market, turning external data into clear recommendations.
- Partner with the broader compensation team on cycles, benchmarking, band development, and company-wide programs with international considerations.
- Identify where US practices translate internationally and proactively recommend changes as Harvey enters new markets.
- Build infrastructure, principles, and enablement to scale Harvey's international compensation approach.
Requirements:
- 5-7+ years of compensation experience.
- Experience supporting international compensation across EMEA and/or APAC.
- Background working for a US-headquartered company with strong understanding of how global compensation programs are designed and adapted for international markets.
- Meaningful experience with equity compensation, including ability to explain and advise on equity in markets with different norms and expectations.
- Experience in high-growth startup or scale-up environments; comfort building while company and market change.
- Strong knowledge of compensation fundamentals: market benchmarking, salary structures, job leveling, offers, promotions, retention, and pay decisions.
- Exceptional business partnership skills; ability to build trust while challenging assumptions.
- Strong analytical skills paired with excellent judgment; ability to know when data is telling you something and when it requires additional context.
- Intellectual curiosity and genuine appetite to become expert on AI talent market, including proactive research on competitors and compensation trends.
- Comfort operating with ambiguity and building new approaches rather than relying on established playbooks.
- Ability to communicate complicated compensation concepts simply and credibly to audiences with varying compensation expertise.
