Peregrine Technologies, backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, builds an AI-enabled platform that helps public safety organizations, state and local governments, federal agencies, and private institutions convert siloed data into operational intelligence. The company currently serves 30+ states and two countries, reaching over 125 million people, and is expanding into enterprise and international markets.
You will lead the newly formed community engagement function, responsible for how Peregrine engages the communities it serves and drives success in the civic arena. This is a founding role with national scope and significant ownership, sitting at the intersection of government affairs, communications, public relations, and go-to-market strategy.
Key responsibilities include: developing community engagement strategies for Peregrine deployments by mapping civic landscapes, identifying stakeholders, conducting community listening, and preparing for public meetings; building scalable playbooks for stakeholder mapping, coalition building, and responding to concerns; translating complex technology into accessible language grounded in local priorities; monitoring public discourse and addressing misinformation; building trusted relationships across the civic ecosystem (community organizations, civil rights advocates, faith leaders, business groups, public safety leaders, media); supporting government partners through high-stakes moments like public hearings and council votes; and ensuring community perspectives inform how Peregrine communicates and deploys its technology.
Success means deployments supported by credible community engagement, a scalable playbook applicable nationwide, strong relationships with civic stakeholders in key markets, better-prepared government partners, clear public understanding of Peregrine's technology and impact, and early identification and response to emerging concerns and opposition.
You bring 8+ years navigating local or state political environments, public affairs, government relations, campaigns, or community engagement. You have deep understanding of how civic decisions are made through city halls, public hearings, and local government processes. You've proven ability to build coalitions, navigate high-stakes conversations, and move complex initiatives to successful outcomes. You have strong relationships and working familiarity with community organizations, elected officials, government leaders, and civic stakeholders. You communicate exceptionally well, both verbally and in writing, with ability to translate complex concepts into accessible language.
