Salary: USD 190,000 - 240,000 / annual
Snorkel AI is seeking a Communications Manager to own and execute the company's communications strategy. Reporting to the Senior Director of Integrated Marketing, you will drive press coverage, podcast placements, awards submissions, and speaking opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the full communications calendar and plan, managing press outreach, podcast placements, awards submissions, and organic speaking opportunities
- Identifying compelling narratives from research, benchmarks, customer wins, and market moments that balance company objectives with newsworthiness
- Pitching and securing mainstream and tier-1 trade media coverage, podcast appearances, and speaking slots (in-house, no agency support)
- Collaborating with Research, Product Marketing, and Content teams to develop coordinated packages: press releases, executive bylines, data cuts, social content, and podcast talking points
- Managing the awards pipeline and organic speaking proposal calendar
You are a strategic writer with strong PR skills, or a PR professional who writes at a journalistic level. You stay current with AI coverage and know influential business podcasts. You excel at balancing what the company needs to communicate with what journalists and audiences actually find interesting.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in communications, PR, journalism, or content roles (in-house or agency)
- Portfolio of placed and published work
- Exceptional writing ability: can produce publication-ready executive bylines and compelling three-sentence pitches
- Working fluency in AI and B2B technical topics; ability to learn quickly from researchers and engineers
- Sound judgment in balancing company goals with newsworthiness
- Existing or developing relationships with tech and business media, influential podcasts, and technical influencers
- Comfort being measured on results with a track record of monitoring and reporting metrics
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience at frontier labs, developer tools, data/ML infrastructure, or enterprise AI companies
- Former reporter or editor background
- Experience running awards programs and conference CFP submissions
- Experience using AI tools for research, drafting, and media monitoring
