The role reports to the Director of Commercial Legal Affairs and sits within a 6-person legal team distributed across Paris and Palo Alto. Key responsibilities include drafting and providing strategic advice on a wide range of contracts, particularly AI-related service agreements with suppliers, partners, customers, and other stakeholders. You will lead contract negotiations, including markup, argumentation, and strategy development. Working closely with other legal team members, you will stay current on AI-related legal and regulatory developments and translate these into contract adaptations and negotiation guidance. You will collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams to ensure legal and regulatory compliance in AI technology deployment. The role includes providing training and support to the business on legal and compliance matters related to AI and contract negotiation, as well as handling other legal topics as needed (labor law, corporate, competition law). Required qualifications include a Master's degree in law with 3–5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a technology or AI-focused environment involving contract negotiation. Essential knowledge areas include artificial intelligence technologies and applications, data privacy, intellectual property, contract law, liability, and regulatory compliance. You must demonstrate strong analytical skills to identify legal risks and solutions in complex AI and technical contexts, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Bar admission is a plus, as is experience in fast-growing environments.
