Strava is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its in-house legal team, reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, Corporate and Commercial. This role combines legal drafting, negotiation, and project management to support strategic commercial agreements across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide day-to-day commercial legal support to the Strava for Business team, including negotiation of sponsored challenge agreements
- Support cross-functional teams on negotiation of vendor, partnership, consulting, data protection, API, and licensing agreements
- Develop and maintain enablement materials including legal playbooks, FAQs, training, and self-service resources for cross-functional partners
- Work with stakeholders across departments, users, community, and vendors
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in commercial negotiations and contract drafting
- Mix of top law firm and in-house experience at a multinational, consumer-facing technology company
- Ability to find innovative, practical solutions to complex contracting challenges while balancing risk tolerance with business objectives
- Strong negotiation skills with ability to advocate for and protect business interests
- Capacity to distill complex legal concepts into actionable guidance and influence at all organizational levels
