Persona is a configurable identity verification platform serving leading companies like Reddit and OpenAI. The platform helps businesses verify individuals and organizations in a digital-first world, addressing fraud prevention and regulatory compliance across multiple industries.
As Associate Commercial Counsel, you will provide legal support on commercial matters with a focus on managing and negotiating commercial relationships. Your primary responsibilities include drafting and negotiating commercial agreements (NDAs, sales agreements, vendor contracts), working directly with the sales team to complete negotiations efficiently while protecting company interests, and maintaining form agreements. You'll also provide legal advice to the Post-Sales team on customer issues and support other legal matters as needed, including internal policy drafting and process implementation.
Key qualifications include 2-4 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or similar environment, a J.D. with active bar membership in at least one state, strong commercial negotiation and drafting skills, good judgment with ability to learn quickly with minimal guidance, and strong project management and prioritization abilities. Knowledge of privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR) is a plus.
The role is based in San Francisco with an expectation of in-office presence three times per week.
