10x Genomics is seeking a Commercial Contracts Manager for EMEA to serve as the primary legal contact and business partner for the EMEA Sales team. This is a remote-based individual contributor role reporting to the Associate Director, Commercial Contracts, operating within a global contracts team in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
You will own the full range of customer-facing legal tasks including drafting and negotiating terms of sale, master supply agreements, collaborations, and MOUs. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary legal team contact for all sales-related matters across EMEA, owning the legal aspects of EMEA tender processes end-to-end, analyzing and interpreting complex contractual provisions to ensure compliance and consistency, and negotiating with sophisticated counterparties such as universities, research institutions, pharma, and biotechnology companies.
Additional responsibilities include developing and delivering training to sales and other commercial team members on contracting matters, and contributing to the investigation and implementation of AI tools to support the team's work and improve efficiency and scalability. You will work across multiple internal teams including sales, customer service, finance, marketing, and legal colleagues.
This role requires a specialist who can remove contracting friction while managing risk appropriately, and who naturally builds relationships internally and with customers. You will thrive in an environment where much of what you encounter is new, and you are trusted to propose solutions and implement them often on tight deadlines measured in days.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Multi-year experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements within the life sciences industry, preferably for a research tools company
- Demonstrable experience with public procurement in major EMEA markets
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills and detail-oriented
- Ability to assess legal and business risks and provide rapid, pragmatic solutions in urgent and demanding situations
- Self-directed and proactive, comfortable executing on multiple projects independently and in collaboration with others
- Available during European business hours
PREFERRED:
- Commercial contracting experience across RUO and diagnostic products and services, and SaaS offerings
- Understanding of the principles of revenue recognition
- Experience with implementing and using AI tools, particularly for contract review and management
- Law degree and/or qualification to practice as a lawyer in any jurisdiction
