Karius is a venture-backed life sciences company specializing in clinical metagenomics and infectious disease diagnostics. The company uses next-generation sequencing and AI to detect microbial cell-free DNA in blood, enabling rapid diagnosis and treatment decisions for infectious diseases.
The Clinical Sales Manager will lead sales efforts across a defined Western Region territory, responsible for growing revenue and test volume by establishing new business in hospitals and health systems while expanding adoption in existing accounts. The role reports to the Regional Sales Director and focuses on building relationships with infectious disease physicians, laboratory directors, C-level executives, and other clinical leaders.
Key responsibilities include: developing and executing territory strategy to maximize hospital and health system account growth; presenting product features and benefits using consultative sales techniques; serving as a subject matter expert on the Karius test's science and technology; building trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders; securing contracts and managing renewals; collaborating with Inside Sales, Customer Success, Medical Affairs, and Marketing teams; developing thought leaders and early adopters; managing account evaluations and driving utilization; providing market feedback to inform product and strategy; partnering with Medical Science Liaisons on clinical interactions; supporting account onboarding and relationship health; identifying regional meeting opportunities and KOL panels; and participating in sales meetings, training, and industry trade shows.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of and experience within greater metropolitan health systems in the Western Region, strong consultative selling skills, ability to engage multiple stakeholders, and passion for advancing infectious disease diagnostics.
