Handspring Health is a virtual mental health clinic for children, teens, and young adults, working to make high-quality behavioral healthcare accessible to all young people and their families. You will join the Clinical Operations team as a Clinical Operations Associate focused on Provider Onboarding.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end provider onboarding experience at an early-stage, rapidly growing organization. You'll be the primary point of contact for newly hired providers, welcoming them, orienting them to Handspring's systems and workflows, and ensuring they're equipped to deliver high-quality care from day one.
Key responsibilities include:
**Provider Onboarding:** Own the complete onboarding journey for new providers. Welcome and orient them to clinical systems (EHR, scheduling, provider portal), coordinate logistics like system access and documentation, lead training sessions, track progress through onboarding, and proactively resolve blockers. You'll also oversee the Credentialing Specialist to keep credentialing on schedule.
**Process Ownership & Scaling:** Continuously evaluate and improve Handspring's provider onboarding process as the organization scales. Identify bottlenecks and gaps, develop solutions (new workflows, automation, self-serve resources, cohort-based training), and collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Clinical Services, and Product teams to implement improvements. Define and track onboarding metrics such as time to first session, training completion, and provider satisfaction.
**Training & Documentation:** Create, maintain, and improve training materials, guides, and process documentation for new providers. Collect feedback from new providers and clinical leaders to refine the experience, and keep content current as systems evolve.
**Clinical Operations Support:** Provide direct support to providers and patients/families when clinical system issues arise, escalating as needed. Contribute to broader clinical operations projects that improve provider and patient experience.
You'll work in a mission-driven environment focused on transforming behavioral healthcare for young people. The role requires strong organizational skills, process thinking, and the ability to communicate complex systems clearly to diverse audiences.
**Requirements:**
- 3+ years of experience in clinical operations, ideally at an early-stage digital health company
- Demonstrated experience owning a process end-to-end and improving it, ideally during rapid growth
- Excellent communication skills; ability to make complex systems approachable and pitch ideas across technical, clinical, and operational teams
- Resourceful, organized systems thinker who identifies breakdowns, determines root causes, and designs scalable solutions
- Comfort navigating systems including EHRs, provider portals, scheduling tools, CRM platforms, Zoom, Slack, Notion, and Google Workspace
- Excitement about working at an early-stage, mission-driven healthcare organization
- Must be based in the United States with U.S. work authorization
- Must be able to work 10am–6pm Pacific Time
