CytoVale is seeking a Clinical Data Engineer to join the Medical Affairs department as an individual contributor. The role focuses on developing and managing clinical datasets that support internal reporting, external presentations, manuscripts, publications, and future clinical trial design.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines for daily and weekly electronic health record (EHR) data extracts from multiple sources
- Migrate structured CSV data into databases, data warehouses, and data lakes to enable efficient querying and analysis
- Build and maintain dashboards tracking IntelliSep solution performance across clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and financial metrics
- Standardize data tables and artifacts toward a canonical data schema for consistency and reliability
- Develop comprehensive documentation and methodologies for data infrastructure
- Handle protected health information (PHI) and sensitive clinical data in full compliance with HIPAA and company data privacy policies
- Maintain version control for all code and data artifacts
- Support quality improvement initiatives by building post-implementation data analysis systems and tools
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of industry experience, ideally with EHR or clinical data systems
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, bash, and Git
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and present data effectively
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure acceptable)
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and PHI-handling requirements
- Experience implementing data privacy, security, and integrity controls in healthcare or clinical environments
- Ability to function independently with minimal direct oversight
- Data-driven mindset with passion for solving complex problems through experimentation and iteration
