Nooks is an applied AI lab building the Agent Workspace for GTM, designing AI agents that operate across the full sales action set from account strategy to prospect research and outreach. The company has raised $70M+ from top VCs including Kleiner Perkins and serves over 1,500 customers including Notion, HubSpot, Cursor, and Rippling, with a track record of tripling ARR annually. This is the second hire into the Legal team and serves as Chief of Staff to the VP of Legal. The role focuses on building the foundations of the legal function: systems, processes, and AI layers that enable Legal to scale with rapid company growth. Day-to-day responsibilities include partnering with go-to-market teams on commercial contract questions (MSAs, DPAs, NDAs, standard terms), serving as the trusted daily support for the sales team, building workflows and processes that route legal work effectively, and creating self-serve guidance that enables teams to answer questions independently. You will handle inbound requests across privacy, vendor and procurement matters, and routine compliance and corporate matters, resolving what is covered by existing policy and escalating what requires legal judgment. Operationally, you will own contract lifecycle management from implementation through ongoing ownership, signature routing and authority, and subprocessor and customer notification processes. You will maintain and extend the AI agent library (currently running agents across contract review, NDA triage, data protection, and privacy questions), measure where agents get things wrong, and feed improvements back into the system. In partnership with the VP of Legal, you will define where an agent can decide and where a human must be involved. The ideal candidate is a senior paralegal, contract manager, or legal operations professional with deep AI fluency. You do not need to be a lawyer but must have used AI tools meaningfully in your own work and understand where they save real time versus where they quietly fail. You should have worked with commercial contracts, have good judgment about risk in negotiations, draft accurately and quickly, and have strong instincts about what to decide versus escalate. You must be an excellent communicator comfortable with ambiguity, able to hold a position under commercial pressure while remaining easy to work with, and willing to engage with both strategic decisions and tactical execution.
