Zeit AI is an autonomous data engineering platform for European mid-market companies. Founded by ex-Palantir engineers and backed by YC S24, Oxford Seed Fund, and Sequoia Scout, the company has grown from zero to €1M ARR in twelve months with a six-person team based in Munich. ZeitMind connects to existing enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, spreadsheets, databases), automates data cleaning and analysis, and enables non-technical employees to work with data in plain language. Current customers span manufacturing, agriculture, and aviation.
As Chief of Staff, you will work directly alongside founders Marvin and Leopold to translate their vision into operational reality. This is not an administrative role but a strategic position that removes obstacles and accelerates execution across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Direct collaboration with founders on urgent priorities: pricing models, board materials, hiring funnels, customer contracts, and strategic decisions
- End-to-end cross-functional project ownership from conception through delivery
- Decision support through research, analysis, and clear recommendations
- Investor and board management: monthly updates, board materials, data room oversight, and fundraising coordination
- Hiring and onboarding leadership to maintain speed and quality as the company scales
- Team operations: offsites, onboarding, operating rhythm, office management, and team culture
- Conference and event strategy
- Process automation using AI tools to eliminate repetitive work
You will handle diverse daily tasks ranging from pricing strategy to candidate interviews to investor communications, adjusting your approach for each stakeholder. Success requires driving projects from idea to completion, not just coordinating others' work.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in fast-moving, high-bar environments: top-tier strategy consulting, investment banking, high-growth startups, founder's offices, or business operations. Emphasis on impact driven rather than tenure.
- Founder experience strongly preferred (founding background, founder's office experience, or prior Chief of Staff role). Alternatively, demonstrated intent to found your own company in the future.
- Restless, action-oriented mindset with strong bias to execution. Sharp, structured thinking to cut through ambiguity quickly.
- Proven track record of driving projects from conception to completion independently.
- Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences (investors, candidates, engineers).
- Comfort with ambiguity and autonomous decision-making with minimal oversight.
- Strong ownership mentality and willingness to pick up unowned problems.
- AI-native: already using AI tools to multiply productivity and capable of building workflows for the team.
- Fluent in German and English (customer base and hiring primarily DACH region).
- Based in Munich or willing to relocate within Europe. Role requires in-person presence.
