Scope automates data collection for the physical world, building an AI-native data collection layer serving 2 billion field workers globally. The company works with major customers including Shell, AstraZeneca, and SpaceX to inspect facilities and products, creating the world's largest dataset on built-world conditions and expert decision-making.
As Chief of Staff, you will work directly with the CEO to build and scale Scope across all dimensions of company operations. The role combines strategic project ownership with operational excellence, requiring substantial autonomy to identify problems, challenge decisions, and drive initiatives to completion. You will work across all teams to remove bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and accelerate growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the CEO and team leads on organizational structure, performance evaluation, and talent development as the company scales
- Removing bottlenecks from major deals and building efficiency and repeatability in the large ACV deal structure
- Cross-functional analysis to identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvements in speed and quality
- Collaborating with Head of Talent to enhance candidate attraction and assessment, including employer brand, interview process, and work trials
- Owning company reporting and weekly updates, synthesizing financial and operational metrics to inform decisions and maintain team alignment
- Strengthening financial operations including spending controls, invoice processes, burn visibility, and investor update materials
- Organizing company events, recruiting activities, and industry conference presence including sponsorships and partnerships
- Leading projects across brand, marketing, and internal tools, taking full responsibility for delivery
The role involves periods of high-intensity work and substantial travel to client sites (chemical plants, oil rigs, manufacturing facilities). Work is onsite 5 days per week or at client locations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience owning complex projects in a high-growth company (successful startup, investment banking, or MBB consulting), ideally in a strategy or operations role
- Track record of turning loosely defined problems into concrete results with limited direction
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with financial and operational data
- Judgment and communication skills to challenge senior leaders, work effectively with technical teams, and develop less experienced colleagues
- High standards and attention to detail with responsibility for implementation and follow-through
- Thrives in environments with high expectations, substantial autonomy, and changing priorities
