StockX is seeking a Category Manager for Sneakers to own the end-to-end growth of the sneaker category within a new, high-priority commerce initiative. This is a single-threaded ownership role blending deep cultural fluency, strategic planning, and hands-on execution.
You will serve as the internal authority on the primary and secondary sneaker ecosystem, the external face of StockX to sneaker sellers and creators, and the architect of the sneaker go-to-market playbook. Responsibilities include defining and executing growth strategy across supply, engagement, and revenue; maintaining current knowledge of sneaker culture, key players, sub-segments, drops, and resale economics; building and owning a pipeline of high-impact sellers, shops, and creators; personally recruiting flagship sellers; identifying and orchestrating sneaker-specific moments and campaigns; partnering cross-functionally with product, marketing, and partnerships teams; and documenting frameworks and best practices as the category scales.
The role requires 5+ years of experience in category management, partnerships, marketplace growth, brand, or operator roles in sneakers, streetwear, or adjacent ecosystems. You must be deeply embedded in sneaker culture with credibility among sellers and community members, comfortable owning outcomes and executing iteratively, data-literate and commercially minded about pricing and liquidity, and entrepreneurial in building from the ground up. Nice-to-haves include an existing network of resellers and creators, personal experience buying/selling sneakers, familiarity with content-driven commerce and creator platforms, and cross-functional product experience.
As the category scales, you will grow into a leadership role overseeing a broader sneaker portfolio and team.
