Catawiki is a curated online marketplace for special and collectible objects, auctioning over 100,000 unique items weekly across categories ranging from sports memorabilia to fine art. As Category Manager for Asian & Tribal Art, you will own the strategic growth and P&L for one of the company's most culturally rich and commercially complex categories. You will build and execute a comprehensive growth strategy for the Asian & Tribal category, balancing sustainable year-over-year expansion with curation excellence and buyer trust. Your responsibilities include owning the category P&L, using data dashboards to inform decisions on auction quality, pricing, reserve pricing strategy, and supply mix. You'll shape auction planning around seasonality, market dynamics, collector behavior, and seller portfolios while driving consistency in curation to reduce performance volatility. You will identify commercial opportunities early and influence internal teams to capitalize on them. A key part of your role is partnering closely with Sales and Business Development to strengthen the seller pipeline and attract high-quality, repeat consignors. You'll build and maintain strong relationships with key sellers, institutions, and professional networks in the Asian & Tribal field, leveraging these networks to unlock growth. Leadership is central to this role: you will lead, coach, and develop an international team of experts, creating clarity and focus through strong prioritization and decision-making. You'll work cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Commercial teams, and monitor global trends in Asian & Tribal markets including pricing dynamics, collector demand, and competitive movements. The role is based in Amsterdam with a hybrid setup requiring two days per week in the office. You should bring a strong commercial mindset, proven experience driving growth in complex category or business environments, and a data-driven approach. Excellent people management, networking, and influencing skills are essential. An entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset balanced with strategic thinking is valued. Interest or background in Asian Art, Tribal Art, or Collectables is a plus but not required.
