Baseten powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies including Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. The company recently raised $1.5B in Series F funding and is building the platform engineers use to ship AI products at scale.
You will join the Capacity Strategy & Operations team, sitting at the intersection of supply intelligence, demand forecasting, and cross-functional execution. This role owns the end-to-end capacity planning process: translating customer commitments and growth forecasts into concrete GPU supply requirements, coordinating fulfillment across vendors, finance, and infrastructure teams, and building systems to make capacity planning repeatable and scalable.
This is not a purely analytical role. You will model complex tradeoffs when supply is constrained, make clear recommendations, and drive alignment across the organization. You'll be equally comfortable building capacity models in spreadsheets and running cross-functional war rooms when customer deployments are at risk.
Key initiatives include: building a demand-supply alignment framework that translates customer pipeline and growth projections into forward-looking GPU demand signals; defining a constrained allocation playbook for how Baseten allocates scarce GPU supply across customers and regions; leading cross-functional response during high-stakes capacity situations; and producing capacity health reports and scenario analyses for senior leadership.
Responsibilities: own the capacity planning process end-to-end (intake, triage, prioritization, fulfillment tracking, post-mortems); translate customer commitments, sales pipeline, and infrastructure targets into GPU demand forecasts across regions and timelines; partner with Finance on capacity scenarios and CapEx decisions; work with the Capacity Acquisition team to align supply procurement with forward demand; coordinate across Sales, SRE, and Infrastructure to resolve capacity conflicts; build operational cadence and dashboards for capacity visibility; identify and drive process improvements to reduce toil and improve reliability.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, finance, or similarly analytical and execution-oriented roles
- Demonstrated ability to own complex, cross-functional processes with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- Strong quantitative and modeling skills; comfortable building demand forecasts, scenario analyses, and capacity models from scratch
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of distilling ambiguous situations into clear recommendations for senior leadership
- High ownership mindset: identify what is broken, build the fix, follow through until working
- Operates well under pressure in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where playbooks don't yet exist
NICE TO HAVE:
- Familiarity with GPU infrastructure, cloud platforms, or AI/ML ecosystem
- Experience in high-growth startups or Series B+ environments where operational processes were built from scratch
- Exposure to vendor or partner management, particularly in hardware, cloud, or infrastructure contexts
