Canva is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join the Cavalry team in London. Cavalry is a motion design platform acquired by Canva, and this role focuses on building integrations between Cavalry and Canva's professional suite, as well as evolving core platform capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and building integrations between Cavalry and Canva, enabling cross-product workflows
- Building integrations with professional applications like Affinity, defining shared architectural approaches
- Owning and evolving authentication systems, ensuring secure connections to Canva services and user accounts
- Building application-side systems for product data and analytics to measure usage and feature performance
- Contributing to Cavalry's core C++ codebase on product features, improvements, and engineering priorities
- Writing clean, high-quality code that raises standards across the team
You bring deep C++ expertise with a focus on real-time performance, memory management, and systems that creative professionals depend on. Experience with Java is valuable for integration work. You're drawn to the intersection of technology and artistry, thinking about how tools feel to use. You're comfortable with ambiguity, enjoy shaping problems, and have breadth across the creative application stack—whether in rendering, typography, cross-product integrations, or related areas. You write code you're proud of and care about the standards you leave for teammates.
