Pico is a global financial technology company headquartered in New York, providing market data services and managed infrastructure solutions to the capital markets community. The company operates offices in Chicago, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, serving clients across trading, market analysis, network monitoring, and data access.
You will join a world-leading engineering team designing and developing features across Pico's product range. The role focuses on decoder development—building systems that power critical market infrastructure including real-time market data feeds, historical data capture and access, network performance monitoring, application debugging, market position analysis, and VoIP call quality monitoring.
You will work on solving problems at scale: analyzing high-volume network data streams in real time, providing normalized and raw market data to consumers, and delivering solutions that support the full trading lifecycle. This is an opportunity to contribute to systems used by major participants in global capital markets.
The position is hybrid with weekly office time and work-from-home flexibility. You will be expected to work across multiple time zones (EMEA, USA, APAC) as needed. Occasional travel may be required but is not expected to be frequent.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 2–3 years of software development experience
- Expert proficiency in C++ development under Linux (required)
- Experience with Python, shell scripting, and makefiles
- Strong understanding of algorithms and design patterns
- Multi-threaded application development experience
- Automated testing (unit and integration testing)
- Proficiency with Linux development tools (gdb, valgrind)
- IP networking knowledge
