Abacus Insights is seeking an experienced Business Solution Manager to bridge client business needs and technical design for healthcare data solutions. The company transforms how data works for health plans, helping them break down data silos and create a single, trusted data foundation. Backed by $100M in funding, Abacus serves US health plans across Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial lines of business. In this role, you will own the full requirements-to-design arc for client engagements. You'll lead discovery sessions with health plan subject matter experts to understand business context, pain points, and success criteria. You'll translate complex healthcare challenges into clear, testable requirements with full traceability from business need through to technical design. You'll work hands-on with data, writing and executing SQL to analyze, test assumptions, and prototype throughout requirements and design phases. This is not an occasional task—data literacy and hands-on SQL work are core to the role. You'll determine appropriate data grain and structure, map dependencies across workstreams, and apply systems thinking to recognize reusable patterns across clients and use cases. As the client-facing anchor, you'll drive requirements-gathering conversations, represent client intent to internal teams, and ensure business requirements remain unambiguous through design and development. You'll work on engagements spanning data standardization and migration, regulatory compliance, and analytics programs that drive payer performance. The role requires command of healthcare business context combined with technical fluency to reason about how requirements become working designs. You'll see each requirement as part of a larger system of clients, states, use cases, and data flows, making design choices that hold up across the entire ecosystem rather than just for the immediate request.
