PHNX Materials is a critical minerals refinery backed by the U.S. Department of War and Department of Energy, converting industrial waste into critical metals for semiconductors and defense, cement replacement materials, and fertilizer. The company addresses China's control of 98% of global gallium, 92% of germanium, and 93% of silicon by establishing domestic supply chains. As Business Operations Manager, you will build and scale the commercial and business functions that bring this industrial technology to market. You will report to company leadership and work closely with technical teams to support fundraising, advance customer and site partnerships, and establish the processes that convert outreach into agreements and early sales. Key responsibilities include: - Supporting fundraising efforts with investor presentations, financial forecasts, and growth scenarios that connect commercial opportunities, site expansion, and capital needs; maintaining supporting materials and diligence responses. - Managing customer and site outreach workflows: tracking prospects, owners, next steps, and deadlines; coordinating internal input; and identifying bottlenecks as outreach scales. - Supporting the structure and iteration of offtake agreements, NDAs, and commercial documents; analyzing terms and economics, tracking revisions, and coordinating review with leadership and legal. - Creating and maintaining customer presentations, product one-pagers, proposals, and collateral that translate technical input into clear materials for investors, customers, and partners. - Coordinating sales readiness across licensing, labeling, product qualification, and customer documentation with technical teams and specialists. - Supporting early customers from initial evaluation through onboarding, coordinating samples, testing, and feedback loops. - Building practical business processes, trackers, and reporting systems that help the team prioritize opportunities, surface risks, and follow through on commitments. - Providing procurement diligence support for technical projects, partnering with technical program managers to obtain quotes, compare suppliers, and flag cost or delivery risks. Requirements: - Experience in investment banking, consulting, business operations, or building business and back-office functions at a startup. - Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, scenario planning, and evaluating commercial tradeoffs with incomplete information. - Clear writing and presentation skills; ability to translate technical and financial information into compelling, accurate materials. - Excellent organization and follow-through across multiple workstreams, external relationships, and changing priorities. - Comfort working with contracts, commercial terms, and diligence materials; experience with offtake agreements or industrial customers is a plus. - Hands-on approach to building simple, repeatable processes and taking ownership of unfamiliar problems in a startup environment. - Comfort using AI tools to streamline workflows, analysis, and content creation, while verifying assumptions and accuracy. - Curiosity about industrial technology and PHNX's mission. - U.S. citizenship or work authorization required (company unable to sponsor non-U.S. citizens).
