AnswersNow is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to architect and maintain the data foundation powering their virtual ABA therapy platform for autism treatment. This is a fully remote role based in the US.
You will serve as the architect of AnswersNow's data infrastructure, creating a single trusted source of truth that drives critical business decisions and fuels their homegrown AI tools. Your primary responsibilities include designing and maintaining dbt models that encode business logic, metric definitions, and dimensional structures; owning the QuickSight environment end-to-end including data sources, SPICE datasets, refresh schedules, and access controls; and ensuring data quality and model accuracy for their proprietary analytics agent.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and maintain dbt models with clear documentation for analysts and business stakeholders
- Own QuickSight architecture and administration, including the technical execution of a Mode-to-QuickSight migration
- Enforce consistent metric definitions across the semantic layer
- Build validation checks and data quality tests with monitoring to surface issues early
- Design and maintain outcomes reporting packages for external payor audiences, including clinical metrics and utilization summaries
- Configure and leverage QuickSight AI features to extend dashboard value
- Partner with the Data Science team on BI and AI inference pipeline intersections
- Stay current on LLM-assisted BI tools and evaluate their application to reduce report creation burden
Required qualifications include 4+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or BI architecture; deep SQL proficiency; strong dbt experience; hands-on Amazon QuickSight experience; data modeling expertise; familiarity with LLM-assisted BI tools or AI-native data products; and strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-have skills include experience with clinical data and healthcare outcomes metrics, RAG pipelines and vector databases, high-compliance data environments (HIPAA, SOC 2), and prior BI platform migrations.
