AssemblyAI is hiring a Senior Business Development Representative to own top-of-funnel pipeline generation for new business. You'll research and break into strategic accounts, running creative multi-channel outbound (email, phone, social, video) to engineering and product leaders at technical companies. Because AssemblyAI's buyers are technical decision-makers—CTOs, VPs of Engineering, product leaders—this role requires credible fluency in APIs, model accuracy, latency tradeoffs, and competitive differentiation. You'll speak substantively about why AssemblyAI wins on performance and developer experience, not rely on templates. Key responsibilities include: owning outbound pipeline into a defined set of strategic accounts; conducting sharp, personalized account research and multi-channel outreach; engaging technical decision-makers and qualifying opportunities; running clean, high-context handoffs to Account Executives; representing AssemblyAI at industry events and in developer/voice AI communities; partnering with Marketing and Sales on messaging and account targeting; and helping build the outbound playbook from the ground up as one of the first people in the seat. This is a senior individual-contributor role with real autonomy. You'll take the company's hardest, highest-value accounts and operate with minimal process. AssemblyAI is a capital-efficient AI company with under 100 people, generating ~$500K ARR per employee, processing 2M+ hours of audio daily, and serving 600M+ monthly inference calls. The company operates as a meritocracy with no heavy planning or approval processes. Required: 1–3+ years in a BDR/SDR role with proven track record generating qualified pipeline from cold outreach; comfort learning and speaking to technical concepts; genuine creativity and persistence in outbound; self-direction and ownership mindset; strong CRM and prospecting-tool fluency (Salesforce, Apollo, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator). Experience selling technical products (APIs, infrastructure, developer tools, AI/ML) to technical buyers is a plus. This role is full-time, in-office in San Francisco, with expectation to meet prospective customers in person.
