Pliant is a modular B2B payments platform combining commercial card issuing, payment accounts, FX, and spend management. Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Berlin, Pliant serves 5,000+ businesses and 40+ partners across Europe and the United States. The company is a principal member of Visa and Mastercard, issuing commercial cards in 13 currencies across 32 countries under its own European e-money license and with licensed partners in the UK and US.
You will join as a Business Development Manager focused on the DACH market (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Pliant's largest market to date. This role combines inbound and outbound prospecting to establish new relationships with small to medium-sized customers, particularly in the fintech space.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting discovery calls, product demos, and closing inbound partner leads
- Generating outbound prospecting to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
- Taking ownership of customer relationships and communicating effectively with potential customers
- Understanding customer needs and pain points through active listening and strategic questioning
- Identifying how Pliant's solutions deliver value to each prospect
- Collaborating with the Customer Success team to drive long-term growth
The role is based at Pliant's Berlin headquarters with a hybrid work model in place.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2–4 years of previous work experience in banking or financial services in a customer-facing role
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders
- Strong willingness to learn and develop your career in a fast-paced fintech environment
- Fluent German and English; additional European languages are advantageous but not essential
- Berlin-based ideally (hybrid work model in place)
