Mollie is a European payments and money management platform serving 250,000+ companies since 2004. This is a full-cycle outbound sales role focused on the Italian market, targeting mid-market to enterprise merchants in e-commerce, fashion, pharmaceuticals, and electronics. You will own the complete sales lifecycle from prospecting through onboarding, managing deals with companies transacting over €500K monthly. The sales cycle typically runs 3–9 months. Your primary responsibilities include: • Building and maintaining a consistent outbound pipeline through 35–50 cold calls per week, disciplined prospecting, and data-driven activity planning • Following up on inbound marketing and partnership leads using Mollie's sales tools • Attending in-person events to source additional leads • Negotiating and closing mid-market and enterprise merchant contracts, including pricing discussions and contract handling • Managing deal progression from first contact through live transaction • Building C-level relationships with e-commerce managers, CEOs, and leadership executives • Coordinating smooth merchant onboarding with sales engineers and customer success teams • Providing accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reporting The Italian market presents a unique opportunity: merchants are often price-driven and tied to existing payment providers, so your role emphasizes education and demonstrating Mollie's value proposition. The goal is to contribute to a pipeline targeting €10M+ in annual transaction volume while building lasting merchant relationships in a market with fewer but larger competitors than other European regions. Mollie operates in small, autonomous teams with real ownership and a balanced work environment. The company emphasizes long-term thinking, providing tools, reliable processes, and support for professional growth. REQUIREMENTS: • Approximately 5 years of commercial experience, with 3 years of full-cycle sales ownership • Proven track record in end-to-end inbound and outbound sales cycles, with demonstrated success in cold outreach conversion and structured pipeline management • Familiarity with value-based sales methodologies (MEDDIC or similar frameworks) and ability to apply them in complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations • Experience selling customized or competitive products where the challenge is displacing incumbent solutions • Confidence in technical sales conversations and ability to work alongside sales engineers on product and integration questions • Fluency in both Italian and English with strong communication and networking skills suitable for C-level conversations • Background in payments, fintech, or SaaS sales with motivation to develop deep expertise in the payments domain
