Carwow is Europe's leading online automotive marketplace, facilitating nearly £3bn in car purchases and £1.8bn in sales listings annually. The company operates a multi-platform ecosystem including reviews, marketplace, media (AutoExpress, Evo magazines), and YouTube content, reaching 10 million YouTube subscribers and 350m+ annual online readers. As Business Development Manager, you will drive adoption of carwow's Sell My Car buying platform by acquiring and onboarding independent motor traders and franchise dealer groups. This is a phone-first role with occasional field visits to close key deals. Key responsibilities include: - Sign up new dealers and drive adoption (bidding and buying) on the Sell My Car platform - Generate new business via cold outreach and inbound leads, primarily over phone with field visits as needed - Identify and develop upsell opportunities for transport, wallet, stock funding, and other services - Build strong, long-term business relationships with potential partners - Collaborate with Account Management on smooth handovers and reactivation of inactive dealers - Deliver persuasive pitches to GMs, Group Buyers, Business Owners, and Sole Traders - Maintain accurate CRM records and manage data effectively The role offers a competitive compensation package, 28 days' holiday (increasing to 35 with tenure), employee share options, pension scheme (up to 5% company contribution), private healthcare, life assurance (4x salary), monthly mental wellbeing coaching, generous parental leave (up to 20 weeks full-pay maternity), childcare support, annual work-from-abroad scheme, learning and development budget, and £500 home office budget. REQUIREMENTS: - Experience in a similar role within automotive retail industry (essential) - Driven, hard-working mindset with ability to adapt in fast-growing, scale-up environment - Hunter mentality with passion for prospecting and developing new partnerships - Strong influencing and negotiation skills with proven business development experience - Confidence working with data to spot opportunities and risks (need not be a data expert) - Excellent communication and presentation skills, adaptable to different audiences - Ability to work with CRM tools such as Salesforce
